Find. Review. Bid. Follow.
A clear route from your first look to a completed handover.
- 01
Browse and shortlist
Anyone can browse the houses, their sessions and every lot. Sign in with a code sent to your email to bid, and follow a house to hear when it posts a session.
- 02
Review the animal
Watch the video and read the 15-question lot form, the bird's identity, its MOCCAE registration and the evidence levels. Check the house, the opening bid, the increment and when bidding closes.
- 03
Check your bidding limit
Before your first bid you place a refundable bidding deposit by card. The deposit sets your bidding limit; the bids you lead count against it until someone outbids you.
- 04
Review and confirm
Enter your bid or use the minimum next bid, then confirm with one tap. A bid is a commitment to buy and can't be edited; a changed minimum or a closed lot refuses it.
- 05
Follow your position
My auctions shows where you lead, where you've been outbid and what you've won, as it happens. Open an outbid lot to raise your bid.
- 06
Complete the handover
The winner pays within 48 hours, meets the seller to inspect the bird and accepts it at handover. A CITES bird moves to you through MOCCAE; the seller is paid after the claim window.
Know the closing rules
Timed sessions close lot by lot at the times shown. A bid in the last 2 minutes resets that lot's remaining time to 2 minutes, so every late bid can be answered. In a called session the host calls each lot, going once, going twice, and any bid restarts the call.
Selling on Petex
Add your bird, list it with the 15-question form, a video and photos, and consign it to a house. Petex checks the listing, then the house accepts it into a session. Opening bids below AED 1,000 carry the AED 100 listing fee plus VAT; Petex deducts a 5% commission from the hammer price.
